I can't believe it's the first of February already! I literally did nothing in January. Well, apart from a lot of sleeping and eating but that is beside the point. So like every other blogger in the world, I had to compile a post of all my favourite products that I used last month because hey, who doesn't like having a nosey at what other people are enjoying right now?
First of all on my favourites is the lovely pink bar of soap with the little elephant poking out of it from Bomb Cosmetics. This little treat is a limited edition special that I was absolutely thrilled to see when they announced on their Facebook. I tried to get it as soon as it appeared on the website but it went out of stock so quickly and I had to end up waiting a little while for it to appear again. Chances are, this little slice of pink lemonade will end up as part of my #SASS series (see the first part here and the second part here!).
The second product to make it on
to my January favourites is the Benefit: They're Real! Tinted Primer. While I
wasn't too interested in this product when I first received it in this months
Birch Box (full review here!), it quickly began to grow on me and now I use it
every single day! It makes my lashes look a lot longer and I can easily go out
with just this on and no mascara.
Next up on my list was the
Benefit Brow Zings. I hoped with all my might that maybe the new AnastasiaBeverly Hills eyebrow definer would be replacing this on my list but in all
honesty, I did not get along with it at all! I was going to do a full review of
it but I had so much trouble with it that I'm not entirely sure I want to show
you how bad my eyebrows look when I use it, so because of that, Benefit reigns
supreme when it comes to my eyebrows.
Also on my favourites was yes, you guessed it, another Benefit product! I can't help myself you know, I should start branching out a bit more really. Anyway, as I was saying, the Benefit Shy Beam highlighter had to make it on to this list because I don't think there's a day where I don't use it. It's a lovely light champagne colour which is perfect for highlighting under my brows and on my cupids bow. Unfortunately you can't buy this by itself - it comes as part of the Operation Pore Proof kit which you can find a full review of it here!
I had two favourite scents this
month, and of course Benefit managed to appear again. 'My place or yours?' Gina is a lovely fresh
scent that contains hints of bergamot, raspberry, white lily and patchouli, as
well as a few others but they're the ones I can pick out. Its a floral and
fruity concoction that I love to use from day to day and I like to put a few
drops through my hair (look, when I shake my hair to get out of my face, it
sends a lovely smell out as well). I also HAD to put the Body Shop Vanilla perfume on my favourites because 1) vanilla is the best smell ever ever EVER
and 2) this is £8.50 and the smell lasts all day no matter what - what's not to
love about that?
Another great addition to my favourites is the Real Techniques Contour Brush (top 5 brushes here). Contouring and highlighting are so in right now, and I have a feeling the trend isn't going away any time soon, so of course this brush was a must in my makeup collection.
Lastly on my January favourites
is the Lime Crime lipstick in the shade 'Beet It'. This was part of their
limited edition set of three but they decided that it was such a popular shade
that they'd sell it separately too! I'm always a fan of red/purple lipsticks
and the liquid to matte formula is really good - the colour will not budge when
it has fully dried and doesn't need multiple coats for it to look absolutely
amazing.
So what products have you loved
in January? Are there any new ones you want to try in February?
I find it hilarious how many Benefit products you loved! Well, whatever works, right? I haven't tried the tinted primer but I really like the idea of it for days when I'm feeling particularly lazy...
ReplyDeleteI've got so many of their products at the moment so I think that why, people went crazy with it on my birthday and Christmas hahaha! I want to branch out more with brands when I have the money to do so though so Benefit doesn't appear as often as it has done
DeleteThose perfumes sound gorgeous. Can I ask, how much is the "My place or yours?" scent? I'm definitely going to try the Body Shop Vanilla Perfume! Great post hun x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
ReplyDeleteI believe its £29.50 or so for a big bottle! This is just a little one though that I got in a set of three (I can't find it on their site so they may just be a Christmas set) which was £19 and the Body Shop spray is absolutely gorgeous, I'm going to try out a few others when I get the chance I think x
DeleteOoh, I love these matte liquid lipsticks that have been coming out recently. Or a matte lip in general. It's quite difficult to find one that isn't drying, isn't it? That real techniques brush is bomb - I like it for contouring or blush!
ReplyDeleteI've found that the Limecrime ones don't dry out my lips too badly which I am so thankful for!
DeleteI love vanilla scented products so think the body shop perfume would be amazing for day to day wear!
