SANTA BABY | Lush lip scrub review

'Santa baby, hurry down the chimney tonight♫'

For the past two weeks, I've been using this little Lush lip scrub on my lips. As it's winter and the weather is miserable and cold, they've gotten so dry and flaky and plain horrible, and pair that with my love for matte lipsticks, my lips are in some serious need of TLC.

To use a lip scrub, all you have to do is get a small amount (I always go crazy and use way too much and it gets everywhere - don't make the same mistake as me) and tap it on to your lips and rub it in, being not too hard as it will make your lips worse. Afterwards, you can lick the excess product off as its just caster sugar.

The 'Santa's Lip Scrub' is a very 'Coca Cola' brand red and is flavoured in the same way. The tiny pot is full to the brim of the product and ha little red hearts settled on the top, which I thought was cute at first, but I later found them to be a nuisance as they kept getting stuck to my lips and sort of melting on to my teeth, creating a mess in my mouth. To be honest, just because its Coca Cola flavoured and red, it doesn't really scream 'Christmas' too me, especially when there are a lot of flavours out there that are more suited to the festive season - Hello gingerbread!

I've never really felt the need to use a lip scrub and didn't see the big deal with them, but now I've actually bought one, my lips have been looking a lot more healthy and the scrub has stopped me from biting my lips as much (even if they do taste nice). For £5.50 a pot though, this isn't a product I'd go rushing to buy again and again, as you could easily make something similar at home (hey, a new post with my own home-made Christmas lip scrub coming soon!).

Have you got a Lush lip scrub? Do you get the hype around them or are you nonchalant about them like me? Tell me in the comments below.
